Acceptable Use Policy

To keep FranceVPS reliable for everyone and compliant with French law, certain activities are prohibited on our infrastructure.

Prohibited content

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — reported immediately to OCLCTIC.
• Content inciting hatred, violence, or terrorism.
• Counterfeit goods or pirated content distribution.
• Phishing pages, malware distribution, or credential theft tools.

Prohibited activities

• Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam).
• Operating open relays, open proxies, or open DNS resolvers without rate limiting.
• Network scanning of third parties without authorization.
• Launching DDoS attacks or operating botnet command-and-control.
• Cryptocurrency mining on Starter and Basic tiers (allowed on Advanced and above with disclosed-purpose).
• Resource exhaustion attacks affecting other tenants.

Allowed by default

• Tor exit nodes (please contact us first so we can pre-stage abuse handling).
• VPN endpoints (commercial or personal).
• Adult content (legal in France, must be age-gated).
• Cryptocurrency nodes (mining requires Advanced+ tier).
• Penetration testing tools (against your own systems or with written authorization).

Enforcement

Violations are handled in three escalation levels:

1. Notice: we email you and ask you to address the issue (typical for first-time minor issues).
2. Suspension: service stopped, data preserved, you have 7 days to remediate.
3. Termination: account closed, data deleted after 30 days.

For severe violations (CSAM, active attacks, court orders), we suspend immediately and notify authorities as legally required.

Reporting abuse

If you believe a FranceVPS-hosted resource is abusing yours, contact abuse@fra-vps.com. Include logs, timestamps (UTC), and the offending IP. We respond within 24 hours.
